QWAK,New hot water heater :)

QWAK,I just ordered a NEW hot water heater :s9: My old wood fired hot water heater is burning out bad and fast. I built it my self from scrap materials but after 15+ years rust has taken a tole so as much as I hate to junk it I have to.:Sorry::bawling:

This is what I found to replace it with!:s1:

For a DUCK having a HOT BATH is extreamly important:yes: -- so my hot tub/DUCK POND has triple redundency back up heat,Solar, tankless propane heater and wood fired heater!:s9:

If I can't PONDER in comfort my pondering tends to get fuzzy and distorted SOoooooooo to maintain clarity of thought and perception a nice warm pond/hot tub is a basic nesity!:hahaha::haha:

QWAK,SilverNuts@Bolts,Same old DUCK POND built out of a 350 gal. "Rubber maid stock tank" Been using since 94:s9: Same one I lined with SILVER ROUNDS when SILVER was just under $7.00

Got a new 1.5 hp pump and DE filter and will also hookup old 1.5 hp pump, should be like a whirl pool then. I also added a 1hp air pump and an OZONE injector AND a LED lighted 4 stream fountan in to the pond that I can turn on and off --- from inside the pond -- of corse.

The DE filter removes every thing down to 2 micron size, the OXONE injector purifies same as the new water treatment plants do so NO clorean or other chemicals and the water is actualy cleaner than CITY WATER so IT is also 350 gal of nice clean water in extream emergencies should I not be able to pump water out of my well.

I have FIRE SPRINKLER HEADS which are to be installed inside and out side the cabin for FIRE PROTECTION so should the need arise the DUCK POND is a 350 gal tank and pump that could save the DUCK NEST from FIRE!

May not LOOK as fancy and have all the jets and lounge positions as the big comercial ones BUT what I saved on building my own went in to SILVER so I am a happy camper when I ponder! LOL:hahaha::grin::yes:

I have seen those on Lehmann' site before, Duck Egg, looks pretty good to me, built like a steam train! Has it arrived yet? Are you pleased with it?

FYI, never call it a "hot" water heater in the plumbers circle.

Water heater will do.

QWAK,max,I just ordered it this morning. We did not have enough sun to get the water passed 102 yesterday off the solar heaters so I fired up my wood burner and noticed a lot of rust out and fire ware I should not be seeing fire.:hahaha:

That convinced me that -- the TIME had COME! LOL:hahaha::yes:

I want to get a big propane tank so I can run the inferred heaters, tankless water heater and back up generator on that insted of the refillable bottles so I can reuse the 100' of copper tubing off the old home made water heaterer to push GAS in sted of water threw. Not much gets waisted around here! :)

BTW: The new 10'x12' room is NOW closed off to the weather!:yippee: The big 4' door to the out side sticks but a little sanding or grinding should take care of that. Got to set two more posts for another door at the front of the green house then I can build the new roof over that and the green house bath will be ok for winter!

I'm SOooooooooooo tired! LOL With out my solk at night I would be too sore to move in the morning to get up and get it done!:hahaha::haha::yes:

QWAK,SilverNuts@Bolts,I started out buying GOLD at $257.00 :D took me a wile to decide I should get some SILVER too.

You are right is was a little less comfortable on the BUTT however the tank is big enough so I can actualy FLOAT so it realy was not that much of a problem and sort of COOL/NEAT to walk and sit on .999 pure SILVER how ever the rounds do tend to move a little too,I concidered using a little dab of clear silicon caulk IF I were to keep it lined. Got to put your SILVE some place -- RIGHT?:questionm:questionm:grin:

It was part of an experiment seeing if lining it with SILVER I could not have to use chemicals. The rounds started changing color from the iron in the water and I did not notice any water quality improvment so I dried off about 2000+ rounds and put them back in there tubes and back in the vault.

It was kind of a fun thing to do.:s9: Got some pictures in the hard drive some place and I am shure I posed a pix here way back when.

BTW: I bought them rounds on my CREDIT CARD at 4% for a year and in less than 9 mo. SILVER was over $15.00 That was MY party time! You must have missed my party.

My fault for not sending out INVITATIONS -- next time just concider your self INVITED!:yippee::cooler::signs1:

QWAK,mick silver,Basicly all I did was take an almost round stock tank 24" deep (350 gal) and wrap 1 1/4 pvc pipe around it using 45 degree elbos and "T"s. Ware I wanted jets hole saw a hole for the pvc fittings and got jets at a hot tub store.

The stock tank comes with a drain fitting at the bottom on one side.

A little clear silicone caulk for the holes and you got a hot tub tank. :s9:

I put 4" of high dencity foam insolation under it and made a top out of the same stuff. The sides I wraped with 9/16 foam with "V" notches ever 3" as needed to make the foam insolation bend. Built that up about 3 1/2 " in layers and finely wraped the sides with silvered bubble wrap foam insolation.:D Just for fun I went around the out side of the tank on top the silvered bubble wrap with yellow rope lights.

The original project was under $700.00 and the diference between what it cost me went in to SILVER!:s9:

It is not as fancy but it is nice and hot and room enough for 3 or 4 friends to injoy or just my self when I want to float and listen to music.

I am relocating the pumps and blower to the new room I just built so it will be quieter in the hot tub room for my music.

I added things gradgualy like the color changing fountain but all that takse is a hack saw to cut the pvc pipe and add another fitting and glue it in:s1: same with the heater or heaters as I have 3,solar,tankless propane and the wood burner.

I was going to use natural stone all around the tank but geting it out would be a hastle and one day I may get a FANCY hot tub to replace the old tank and find some other use for the original tank like a water filtration system for the cabin or the sprinkler system, just adapt the plumbing as needed.:s9:
